Hi All, please advised of the following policy and tarrif changes with effect 1 March 2013.
System Tariff Increase:Â

- Proposed Implementation Date:Â 1 March 2013
- Implications:Â will affect Registrants and Applicants on the Legacy System
- The ZA Central Registry to increase the annual fee for a CO.ZA domain name on the legacy system from ZAR 80.00 (Eighty Rand) to ZAR 110.00 (One Hunred and Ten Rand).
- The tariff increase will come into effect for all domain name registrations and renewals on or after the Implementation Date.
Creates: No Delegation Until Receipt of Payment Confirmed.Â
- Proposed Implementation Date:Â 1 March 2013
- Implications:Â will affect Applicants on the Legacy System
- Details:
- The ZACR will, with effect from the Implementation Date, no longer delegate the applied for domain name into the CO.ZA zone until such time as receipt of the domain name registration fee is confirmed.
- This will have the effect that all successful new registrations will (effectively) be allocated with a SUSPEND status until payment is received and allocated.Â
- Other than affecting the operation of the domain name (i.e. its responsiveness to DNS queries) the allocation or registration of the domain name will not be affected.
Creates: Shortened Expiry Period.Â

- Implications:Â will affect Applicants on the Legacy System
- Details:
- The ZACR will, with effect from the Implementation Date, provide the Billing contact with a tax invoice upon registration (Create being confirmed by the Registry).Â
- The Billing contact will also receive a statement at the end of the Create month concerning the relevant domain name.
- The Billing Contact will be provided a period of 30 days from first (1st) statement to pay for the domain name, failing which the domain name will expire and revert into the pool of available domains or will be subject to the Registries Open Redemption Process (see Policy Reference RY003)
Renews: Shortened Expiry Period.Â

- Implications:Â will affect Registrants on the Legacy System
- Details:
- The ZACR will, with effect from the Implementation Date, provide the Billing contact with a tax invoice at the end of the renewal month per domain name.
- The Billing Contact will be provided a period of 30 days from invoice to pay for the domain name, failing which the domain name will be suspended (removed from the zone).
- Should the Billing contact still not pay for the domain name within a further 30 days (60 days in total from invoice), the domain name will expire and revert into the pool of available domains or will be subject to the Registries Open Redemption Process (see Policy Reference RY003)
