Preguntes Freqüents - FAQ

I cannot access cPanel of Webmail, what do I do?

If you cannot access either your cPanel, or Webmail, then please check the following:

  1. Can you access your website? If you can see your website, then it normally means that communication between your own PC, and our server is working. Browse around your own website, and even http://www.linuxweb.co.za to confirm this.
  2. Can you access other websites, like Google / BBC or even Ananzi ? If you can access all 3 these website without any problems, then it's another indication that your internet connection could not be working correctly. If not, please contact your ISP, and, or IT support to rectify the problem.
  3. Now, try and access http://{yourdomain.co.za}/cpanel or http://{yourdomain.co.za}/webmail. If either of these don't work, then try the following:
    • cPanel & Webmail uses non standard ports to work on. Make sure the following ports are open on your firewall: 2082, 2083, 2095, 2096. You may need to ask your IT support staff for assistance if you don't know what this means.
    • If this is fine, but you still can't access cPanel or Webmail, then you may need to disable any firewall & anti - virus on your PC as another test. If cPanel & Webmail works, then it means one of the security measure you have disabled is misconfigured, or causing problems.
    • If the above is correct, please contact your ISP and ask them if they have blocked access to these ports, and ask them to open access for you.
    • If you are on a company, or corporate network, access to these ports may normally be blocked and you would need to ask your IT support staff to open these ports for you.
